VIRGINIA "PEPPER" POTTS.

Everything that Pepper got in her life she got on her own. Her parents died when she was at such a young age, and she had nobody in either family to take her in. She was sent to live with a foster family. From then she knew that they weren’t here parents. It was never speculated that they were, and she was glad they tried not to assume the role of her parents. She would not forget them. What time she did have with them were good memories. Something she would cherish forever.
As she hit her teen years she had a general idea in what she wanted to do with her life. She had started computer classes with the intent on going off to college to take business classes, which is exactly what she did. Pepper was always considered intelligent, so she typically grasped things easily – in the business aspect of things.
During college she landed a position in Stark Industries as a secretary. During her time she found an accounting error that could have cost Tony Stark a lot of money, so she went to him, though she was told she couldn’t speak to him. She pushed her way in to show him exactly where the error had occurred. It was there he realized how much she knew about his company, so he bumped her up to his Executive Assistant. She becomes the driving force behind Tony Stark, which keeping a hero organized is not a very easy task. It was Tony that gave her the nickname Pepper, after he had seen the freckles over her cheeks and nose.
It was said by many that this position all she did was his laundry or things that were mediocre for her position. Yes, she had become something of a personal assistant to him, but she knew the day to day operations of Stark Industries, which showed when he was taken hostage by Ten Rings terrorist organization. She ran the company while he was gone, which wasn’t unforeseen as she has always been the backbone of Stark Industries. If it wasn’t for her Tony would never make it to half his meetings.
She had been devastated in his disappearance though. She has never been one to allow romance to come before professionalism. His disappearance is when she had first stirrings of something else. Not only was she very upset, but she realized then that she really had been harboring deeper feelings for Tony. The problem was that she knew she wouldn’t act on them. She would continue to work for him as she had, doing everything that he needed, but she would never come out and express how much she cared for him. She would keep things at a professional level as she always did.
Things changed though. She noticed the changes in Tony as he became Iron Man. No longer was the man that took women to bed with him like he always had. He was starting to show feelings, and she liked to think they were towards her. She didn’t act on them or question it. She didn’t want to be wrong in her findings, and she really was trying to keep everything strictly on a business level. Pepper had always been the strong, independent type. Some of it came from the fact that she didn’t have family. She learned to take care of herself, until she started to work so closely with Tony. He had become all that she had. She cared for him a lot and wanted nothing more than to see him happy.
Little did she know that Tony was beginning to die of poisoning from the Palladium in his arc reactor. She had a sneaky suspicion as he went about making her CEO of Stark Industries. At first she was grateful for the position, but then she began to wonder why it was he would hand over his greatest assets. Eventually she figures out his motives to making her CEO, and she wasn’t happy to learn that he was dying without a word to her about it. In the end she signs Stark Industries back over to him, but it did bring her one step closer to the man that she had feelings for and couldn't be happier.
The two of them work hard to get into clean energy and build a building solely working on it. Once again, his near death shocked her to the core as he fought Loki and the creatures he brought in from another dimension. Her focus is to keep things simple now, which they did as they created a new building for the Avengers.
